Patients with Insurance – No Gap on Check Up and Clean
Our goal is to make quality dental care accessible to our patients. We are pleased to offer check-up and clean services, including x-rays, at no out-of-pocket cost for patients with dental insurance. This means that we will bill your health insurance provider directly (via HICAPS) and you will not have to pay any additional amount towards your check up and clean. For Insurance patients it is important to note that we do not take a gap payment on check up and clean item codes. Most Health Funds will provide a fixed rebate regardless of the amount claimed. The actual amount claimed from your health fund will vary from location to location and follows a different fee schedule than the above. Some locations may have agreements with certain Health Funds to be a “preferred provider” and our fees would follow that fee schedule.
We endeavour to ensure that our Insurance fee schedule remains highly competitive and use the ADA National Fee Survey as well as the Medicare Child Benefit Scheme for comparison. In 2015 the average fees charged by private dentists in Victoria were:
Examination (011) – $80
Intraoral X-Ray – $60 each
Panoramic X-Ray – $175 each
Clean (114) – $150 – $190
Topical Fluroide Treatment – $75
Larger Treatment Plans
For larger cases we can offer a tailored solution suitable to your needs. All our payment plans have NO INTEREST so it’s just a matter of working out an affordable length of time and deposit payment.
Example of a large treatment plan
Rachel has been quoted $1900 for two crowns but with her existing monthly commitments she can’t afford to pay for it all at once. She decides to go on a 6-month payment plan. She pays $400 as a deposit and arranges to pay $250 a month for the balance. Because she has Major Dental Insurance so we can submit a claim to her insurance company so she receives a rebate toward her treatment helping to offset her deposit.
Orthodontic Treatment Plans
When you choose to proceed with orthodontic treatment, we can arrange for your payments to be spread over 18-24 monthly instalments. These instalments will be automatically deducted from your bank account or credit card via Direct Debit, eliminating the need for you to remember to make each payment.
